Licensing & Registration

Boats powered higher than a 9.9 HP require an ON license and to be registered at Transport Canada. 

If you purchase a used boat you will need to transfer the exciting license into your name. If your boat is ever stolen, the license number on the side of the boat is how someone can identify the boat belongs to you. Keep in mind if you skip transferring your boat into your name and your boat is found, the boat will be returned to the person registered under the licensing.

Note*  As of January 2021 Transport Canada changed the expiration date the PLC and they now expire every 10 years. Make sure you keep your PCL up to date.
